Michael Burke
Founder and Director of Embrace Resilience
I have worked with private and public organisations in the health and social care sector for over 30 years. I have a special interest in behavioural science and dual diagnosis. From designing and delivering training courses on Mental Health for GPs, allied health professionals and educationalists it was a small step to create meaningful online learning content for a wider audience.
I believe that learning technologies have a powerful role to play in helping to equip people to develop their resilience and wellbeing. For me, it’s all about developing the capacity for resilience in individuals, organisations and communities.
One definition of resilience is the ability to adapt positively to changing circumstances. My favourite quote on the subject is: “Sometimes when it looks like things are falling apart, they may actually be falling in to place”.
Whole-systems improvement demands an approach with a focus on the whole individual and necessarily involves behavioural change across the organisation. It is here that the blend of online learning technologies and face to face training have a role to play.

Dave Mellody
I have worked with Michael and Embrace since 2006 and enjoyed helping to establish the company as a leading provider of online learning materials.
It’s my job to make sure our website and all of our courses are up to date and do exactly what they’re supposed to do. As a technical developer I use a wide range of software and do a fair amount of coding whilst continually improving our own bespoke learning management system.
I work with our partners including subject matter experts, writers and creators to create new courses.

TERESA KUFELDT
I have worked for Embrace for over 12 years supporting different aspects of the business. Having worked in the IT industry for over 30 years (sad but true!), I have responsibility for managing the development and support of the courseware and our Learner Administration System, which is a core function of the Embrace platform.
With Mike providing the business and e-learning know-how, I handle the system specification and, after Dave has worked his coding magic, the system testing and subsequent customer support.
I also have an Admin role managing customer invoicing, management reporting and whatever else you can think of!
